RVs are a great way to travel - and being disabled doesn't mean being stuck at home.  Check out The Enabled RVer for travel resources for handicapped RVer's and their families.  Includes an Accessible RV Checklist, Access Travel Rights, The Accessible RV Site, and many more articles.

Wheelchair Travel Tip:  When travelling on an airline with someone in a wheelchair, always ask for bulkhead seating. With bulkhead seating there is sufficient room to pivot and turn the wheelchair. Airline pillows and blankets can be added for support and comfort; blankets can also be used for privacy if required. Take along a small pad/cover for the seat if there is a possibility of bladder mishaps.

Remember to check out the Handicapped Travel Club for fun and fellowship!  The Handicapped Travel Club, Inc. was formed in 1973 to encourage RV traveling for people with a wide range of disabilities.  The HTC encourages people with disabilities and their families to travel, to meet and to share information on making recreational vehicles accessible for the disabled.  "Fun and fellowship" is our motto.  We currently have over 250 active (very active) members, publish a newsletter, have local get-togethers and sponsor an annual rally as well as an occasional regional rally. The annual rally rotates among various sections of the country.
